The TRUSTe and Hacker Safe certification

MyID is a licensee of the TRUSTe Privacy Program. TRUSTe is an independent, non-profit organization whose mission is to enable individuals and organizations to establish trusting relationships based on respect for personal identity and information by promoting the use of fair information practices. This privacy statement covers the site www.myid.is. Because we want to demonstrate our commitment to our users' privacy, we have agreed to disclose our privacy practices and have them reviewed for compliance by TRUSTe.
If users have questions or concerns regarding this statement, you should first contact MyID by email at privacy@myid.is. If you do not receive acknowledgment of your inquiry or it is not satisfactorily addressed, you should then contact TRUSTe through the TRUSTe Watchdog Dispute Resolution Process (http://www.truste.org/consumers/watchdog_complaint.php). TRUSTe will serve as a liaison with the Web site to resolve users concerns. However, please understand that the TRUSTe program only covers information collected through the Web site, and does not cover information that may be collected through software downloaded from the site.
Our website is tested and certified daily to pass the HACKER SAFE Security Scan. To help address concerns about hacker access to confidential data, the "live" HACKER SAFE mark appears only when a web site meets the HACKER SAFE standard, such as our website.
Log File Information

How Personal Information Is Used
If you submit personally identifiable information to us through the Site, then we use your personal information to operate, maintain, and provide customized features and functionality.

You may update or correct your personal information and email preferences at any time by visiting the Account Settings page. The accuracy of such information is solely your responsibility.
To help us make e-mails more useful and interesting for registered users, we may receive a confirmation when you open e-mail from the Site. We may also compare our registered user list to lists received from other companies, in an effort to avoid sending unnecessary messages to our registered users.

For example, to protect your privacy and security, we take reasonable steps (such as requesting a unique Password) to verify your identity before granting access to a user's account or making changes to a user's account information. You are solely responsible for maintaining the secrecy of your unique Password and account information at all times. To protect any data you store on our servers we also regularly audit our system for possible vulnerabilities and attacks and we use a tier-one secured-access data center. And sensitive data (such as credit card information) is protected by SSL encryption when it is exchanged between your web browser and our web site.
Our Commitment To Children's Privacy
Children are not eligible to use our service and we ask that minors (under the age of 18) do not submit any personal information to us or use the service.
